The wife and I have found the grip area on the reservoir lid to be so shallow that we occasionally drop it when removing and replacing, sometimes into the reservoir. This tab is just large enough to grip between thumb and first finger.

Use 5-minute epoxy to secure the tab to the grip area of the lid and allow to cure overnight before using it.
