So I did a thing... I love the 3x1 Storage Bins. But sometimes you need a bit more space. So I made a 3x2x1 version (WxDxH). I still thinned out the walls as I did for the 1x1 to add 25% more space vs the stock 3x1 and then went double deep (100mm internal depth). The lock functions normally and all back and side connections function normally.

This design prints in just 4.5 hours for the case and 3.5 hours for the internal components on my X1C and H2D. It opens up the ability to store larger items and one other really wild idea I have that'll take me a few days to design. I also plan to increase the width of the rear articulating arm to support even larger items (so it doesn't become a point of failure). Still have to figure out how to reduce the opening angle.
This is my garage parts set up. Larger boxes are from a kickstarter I supported for bigger parts. The cargo containers need a shelf on the bottom to allow the first row to tip out. I would like to add 3x2 and 2x2 containers one container deep but also add deeper containers for all of them. 3x2x2, 3x2x3, 2x2x2, & 2x2x3.

Hello tonysr! Do you think you could share your modifications to those larger containers?

A

Hi, are you using a CAD program to thin the walls? I am trying to do the same thing, but wondering if there is an easier way than Fusion?

Emre P

hello. can you share please email ?

That's awesome! This is exactly what I've been wanting and looking for. Can you share the modfied file with me?

300 grams for a single 3x1 complete print is just insane. With filament costing 15 euros per kilogram and a five-hour print time, that's more than four euros per 3x1 piece. I don't know, for someone who has to pay for the filament, this is not worth it.

It's a nice design and a nice idea, but if you want to fill your entire wall, there are countless more options you could buy.

I'm sure this has been asked, but I would love to see a 2 and three wide, but 2 tall. So its deeper.

Hi. You do excellent work. Absolutely amazing. As beautiful as these boxes are, they are also of very little use to someone who wants to store anything other than screws. A regular spool of duct tape won't fit into any of these boxes. Dear friends, we are ALL waiting for the larger, roomier versions. (WxDxH) 3x2x2, 3x2x3, 2x2x2, 1x2x1 etc. Is there any hope for these larger variants? Not everyone will handle this in CAD.

Hello Play Conveyor! As some other commenters have noted: Your container system is really great... but unfortunately, they're a little too small for my needs... Have you considered Cargo containers sizes 2x2 and 3x2? Those would be really perfect!

I am going to add a +1 for a 2x2x2 or 2x2x1. I plan to design mountable objects to this rail design system anyway and will make a model for it if you don't. If I beat you to it I will give the model to you.

Please add deeper containers. These are really cool containers, but they're far too shallow in depth to be that useful. Additionally, the walls of the containers are pretty hefty. With the standard settings, it's going to cost me roughly $30 to print 6 of these things with the enclosure. I can buy 9 deeper and biggers containers for $24 from the hardware store which are also modular. I would love to have the designs of these ones instead though https://www.bunnings.com.au/tactix-9-box-storage-modular-tower_p2584025

Hello, very nice model. Just downloaded and starting to build my storage space. Can you please send me link with some instructions how did you make the transparent front ?
