Painting Tip: For those who wish to paint the model, I used only three paint colours: Raw Umber, Pale Gold, and White.

Start with a full Raw Umber undercoat and allow it to dry completely. Next, lightly dry brush the orb with Raw Umber or Pale Gold to soften the harsh white appearance while still allowing the light to glow beautifully through the material.

Finish by dry brushing Pale Gold over the moon, chain, and all raised edges to bring out the sculpted details. For the brightest highlights, apply a small amount of White first, then lightly blend over it with Pale Gold. I also used this technique on the orb to create a warmer, more natural illuminated effect.

The goal is to achieve a hand-painted 3D printed finish with a subtle aged and weathered character, while maintaining a clean, modern appearance that complements both contemporary and traditional home décor.

You could also add: "A light matte clear coat can be applied to protect the finish without losing the hand-painted look." if you want an extra finishing step.
