The SPATHI Planter borrows it's texture from the stunning spadix of the Spathiphyllum plant, also known as the Peace Lily. This example of precision and repetition in nature makes for a great sturdy planter. This delightful form can also serve as a simple container! This design is also versatile in size, able to be scaled to virtually any size you desire and printable in standard or vase mode, with models for both styles included.

Printing Guidelines

This download has versions for standard printing 'solid' and vase mode printing 'vase', with and without drainage holes.

Spiral/Vase mode will generally produce the cleanest print by eliminating the seam. You can set perimeter extrusion width to 0.6mm (even with a 0.4mm nozzle) for a pot that's sturdy enough for most purposes. Print at 0.16mm layer height, 1-2mm thick solid bottom layers, no top layers.

For the solid version, print at 0.16mm layer height with 2 perimeters. To speed up printing, disable 'gap fill', disable 'ensure vertical shell thickness', disable 'extra perimeters if needed', disable 'detect narrow internal solid infill', and set 'solid infill threshold area' to 0... basically, turn off any settings that try to fill the space between the perimeters, since it isn't necessary with the wall structure of this design. You can set infill to 0%, just make sure to have enough solid top/bottom layers to make the bottom solid (for the 270mm size I had 5 top/6 bottom solid layers).

Set top fill pattern to 'concentric' for a clean top edge.
