Some may call it the trippiest thing to come off of a 3D Printer since the conception of 3D printing. The Exploding Circle, previously existing only as a 3D rendering in the world of the YouTube, has been brought to the real (simulated) world. After repeatedly kicking the behind of its creator, the gears have aligned. Once every 2pi radians, the segments of the circle come together, only to re-explode as the crank keeps spinning.

The Exploding Circle engineered kinetic sculpture is a mesmerizing example of how you can use spur gears, bevel gears, and planetary gears to create interesting motion.

This download includes all of the STL files needed to 3D print your own Exploding Circle sculpture and requires no additional tools for assembly. WD-40 or another type of lubricant is recommended for smooth operation.

This Video shows you how easy it is to assemble!

Recommended print settings:

Layer Height: 0.2mm Nozzle: 0.4mm Infill: 15-18% Total Filament: ~0.47 kg Largest Part Size on Bed: 200x200mm Tallest Part: 106mm

**All the files have been pre-oriented to save you some set up time! All you need to do is drop the parts into your slicer and hit print! This download includes pre-arranged layouts for 205x205 (or larger) beds for easier printing!
