This print-in-place chess piece transforms into any of the six chess pieces: pawn, rook, knight, bishop, king, or queen. See here for video: https://youtu.be/0cj6SbYCWAs Each of the side sections flip up and lock into place to form a rook, knight, bishop, king, or queen. Leave them all down and you have a pawn. Print sixteen in each colour and you’ll have a set! OK, not to most efficient way to acquire a chess set, but super fun to change a pawn into queen when your opponent isn’t looking. Proper sizing of the ball is important for the flip-up sections to snap into place. If you print one piece at a time at regular speed, the filament won’t have time to solidify while printing the ball and it will likely become deformed. You can avoid this by slowing down your print speed or printing more than one at a time to allow time for the filament to solidify between layers. This is an entry for the Print-in-Place Designs 3D Modelling Challenge #3Dprint #thangs3d #pdo #chess #pawn #rook #bishop #knight #king #queen #printinplace #transformer
