Throughout the year, there are various 3D printing related events where Maker Chips are exchanged. The Maker Chips are about the size of a typical poker chip. It's typical for designers and businesses to design a Maker Chip as a sort of business card, where it will have a logo on one side and QR code on the other.

This model was just a clever way for me to carry my Maker Chips around with me as I traveled from booth to booth talking to all the vendors and creators at the last Rocky Mountain RepRap Festival I attended.

If you don't already have it, download files to print my Dungeon Master Tome Book Bag while you're at it!

If you're interested in designing your own Maker Chip, K2_Kevin came up with an easy way for anyone to design their own chips. Head over to Makerworld to download his example files and watch his tutorials.

Printing Instructions: Layer Height: 0.2mm Supports:

  • Makerchip Side Insert: Yes
  • Everything else: No

Special Note: The fitment of the capsule lid can be tricky to get the perfect fit. Because everyone's printer is tuned differently to have different tolerances, it is advised to print just one of the lid to test fitment.

You can adjust the x/y scale of the lid as needed to get it to fit just right. In your slicer, when you scale the capsule lid, make sure you uncheck "uniform scale" so that the z doesn't get scaled with it.

Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.
