Wind Spinner Balloon
This model looks like a balloon but its actually a Wind Spinner. It prints all as one piece without supports. I used helper disc’s(brim), to make sure I had enough bed adhesion. I did not use z-hop but that might help keep the fins stable while printing if you have this issue. Your printer will also need to ability to make a 1” bridge. The model as downloaded is 232mm tall but I’ve printed it at 200mm and 300mm, I’m sure you could go taller or shorter than that.
I used these Ball Bearing Swivels(aff) to allow it to spin better.
Printed on the Muldex rep-rap IDEX printer with [Eryone Matte Dual Color PLA. FYI… its PLA so keep out of the sun/heat.

What is the infill % you have it set to, for those that have printed this ?
I would use 25% infill and 3 walls to make it strong incase it falls to the ground.
Almost 70% done and this is looking Amazing🤘🤘I'm using AMOLEN Shiny Filament Color Change Purple Blue, which is a gorgeous filament! This will be the tallest Print I've done to date, so that's pretty exciting.
I was going to suggest that someone "Remix" this to have a built-in swivel at the top, but I think the Ball Bearing Swivels link will do 😁
Haha! That's awesome and way more thought than I had put into it. I was just thinking the actual "knub" with the hole in it would rotate... Not the entire shaft 😲😂
I didn't think about PLA being in the sun, I just had to print it in this new filament! With that said, it will probably be an in-house display piece 🤘🤘

You think I didn't already have that idea?!?!? 🤣 I had it all planned out, the rotating shaft would start at the bed and go all the way thru the center post to the top. The issue is we are harvesting the power of the wind! 💪Wait until you see this thing spin. After seeing it, I did not think a PLA bearing would last long.
This is pretty slick! Looks great in multi-color filament.
