Candy Corn is such an iconic Halloween treat that I thought it would be fun make to make it into a slinky 🤩 I created two files: one with 'more tolerance (spacing)' between the layers so they are easier to separate; and one with 'less tolerance (spacing)' which is a little more work to separate. I recommend starting with the 'more tolerance' file:)
The reason I included both is I don't want anyone to get frustrated trying to separate the layers BUT I really like the finished play of the one with the 'less tolerance'. It has a nice bounce 😂 (Separating the narrow layers on this one feels a little more like removing weak supports.) Gently separate the layers of the Candy Corn with 'more tolerance' with your fingers. For the Candy Corn with 'less tolerance', use a non-sharp object (butter knife) to carefully separate:)
Dimensions: 2.25in. x 2.25in. x 1.5in.
3D Print Settings Layer Height 0.2mm PLA works great No Supports needed. 15% Infill
I have attached a 3mf with the following print profiles: Print plate #1: Candy Corn Slinky with more tolerance (more space between slinky layers), 3 colors Print plate #2: Candy Corn Slinky with less tolerance (less space between slinky layers), 3 colors
Note: When you go to preview this slinky in Bambu Studio you will get a warning that states: “Warning: It seems object CC Slinky has floating cantilever. Please re-orient the object or enable support generation.” You can ignore this warning. The program is recognizing the space between each slinky layer. That ‘space’ is intentional and necessary to be able to separate the slinky when it is done printing. It will print fine without supports:)
If you do not have a multi-color printer that is no problem:) Just insert a pause print in your slicer program to change out the filament color. Start with yellow and at approx. layer 85 (layer height 17mm) change it to orange, and then at layer 185 (layer height 37mm) change it to white (see photo).
Have fun printing:)
