Balance Platforms // Ankle Strength + Balance Training
I designed these balancing platforms to help strengthen my ankles while at my standing desk. Use one per foot unsupported for an advanced challenge, or use your desk for support for more passive sustained training.
Each platform is made from 4 parts for printing without supports and to combine the benefits of flexible TPU filament and a stiff filament like PLA.
Printing Guidelines
- Grip.stl : 95a TPU filament, 0.2mm layers, 3 shells, 15% gyroid infill, 5 top/bottom layers
- Ball.stl : 95a TPU filament, 0.2mm layers, 5 shells, 15% gyroid infill, 5 bottom layers, 10 top layers
- Panel.stl : PLA, 0.2mm layers, 5 shells, 80% gyroid infill, 5 top/bottom layers
- Core.stl : PLA, 0.2mm layers, 10 shells, 25% gyroid infill, 5 top/bototm layers
Photographed model was printed on the QIDI Q1-Pro 3D Printer using BambuLab 95A HF TPU filament, and Bambu Lab Matte Black PLA filament on the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D Printer.* *These affiliate links give me a commission on sales at no additional cost to you. Hi! I've purchased this model and I'm excited to make this someday, but I realized that I can't make it currently - the models don't fit my current printer's build volume. One more reason to upgrade, I suppose.
To help future buyers: The parts will fit into a 240x240x60 build volume or larger, and the filament requirements are (according to my slicer) around 250g of TPU and 420g of PLA per platform (so double those numbers if you intend to make 2).
