"The Order or the Rooted is an ancient lineage of druids summoned by the kingdom of Thalor to help fight the growing threat of the Barkfiends of Faewyrn — a vast, corrupted forest connected to four others and the eastern mountains. Unlike ordinary druids who command nature, the Rooted merge with it, becoming more tree-like as they age until they ultimately root themselves and transform into sacred trees of immense power. Their strategy in the war is slow but decisive: push back the Barkfiends on the western front and plant an elder at the forest’s edge, whose far-reaching roots will allow the druids to strike both above and beneath the earth. As other heroes defend the remaining borders, the Rooted wage a patient, and long battle to contain the Barkfiends and reclaim the forest inch by inch."
