1:144 SPAD 17
This is a paintable 1:144 scale model of a SPAD 17. Since many painters choose their own mounting system, no peg is included on the plane. Pegs can be purchased separately in the Accessories section of this catalog.
The SPAD 17 was the ultimate SPAD fighter. It was a development of the popular SPAD 13 designed for the new 300hp Hispano-Suiza 8Fb engine. The wings and fuselage were strengthened and the horizontal stabilizers had a rounded shape reminiscent of the SPAD 16 two-seater. In testing, the SPAD 17 was found to be marginally superior to the SPAD 13. A test batch of twenty SPAD 17's were built. In the last few months of the war, they were parceled out to the top pilots of Les Cicognes (The Storks).
