PREMIUM VERTICAL LAPTOP STAND | LAPTOP DOCK | 3D DIGITAL FILE
bytwothingiesElevate your desk aesthetics and organization with this vertical laptop stand!
We have worked on the details on this design so that it looks great while being functional and durable. The best part: it is very customizable!
The side decorative panels are separate parts, so you can print them in different colors without having an AMS/MMU print system. We have released a few different patterns so you can choose the texture and color combination that best matches your desk setup.
Like our previous laptop dock design, this one is also adjustable, so it can fit different laptops. The sides of the stand can slide in or out up to 10 mm.
We made two versions to fit laptops of different thicknesses:
- Slim: 17 to 27 mm (works well for MacBooks and Ultrabooks)
- Wide: 24 to 34 mm (works for thicker laptops and mobile workstations)
Please adjust the width of the stand to match your laptop before using it.
What you get Access to the digital files for creating this design for personal use. This includes:
- STL files for all the parts of the stand and the decorative patterns.
- DXF and PDF files with the contours of the soft paddings, so you can either cut them using a laser cutter, a plotter, or by hand. Feel free to use cork, felt, leather, fabric, rubber, or any material you prefer. You also get the STL files of the paddings, in case you want to print them using a soft material, like TPU.
Additional benefits By purchasing these files you'll also have:
- Access to new pattern designs we'll release, at no additional cost
- Discounts for other premium designs like this one
- Discounted access to a kit of non-printed parts containing all the screws, inserts and soft-padding material you need to make this design.
Non-printed parts:
- Threaded inserts. M4 x 8. Qty: 4
- Countersunk (flathead) screws. M4 x 16. Qty: 4
- Soft padding material, about 2 mm thick (we used cork sheets).
The files include DXF contours for cutting the soft padding parts from cork or felt. We have also included STL files for the paddings, so you can print them in a soft material, like TPU, if you like.
Disclaimer When using laptops docked vertically, be mindful of the location of the exhaust and inlet ventilation openings. Ensure the stand does not obstruct them to allow correct cooling of your device.
Printing All the parts should be printed in the provided orientation for best results.
The side decorative panels are printed standing, and preferably in vase mode (continuous spiral). A 2 mm brim around the base is recommended. No supports are required.
Tip: When printing in our PrusaMini+ we obtained the best results when the decorative pattern was facing the part cooling fan, and this is the orientation we are providing.
