This stained-glass styled Macaw is a print in TWO parts using the HueForge Lithophane Blending Type. The first part has the blues of the foreground. The second part blanks out parts of the bird and provides the reds and yellows for the background. The image halves are tailored to yield green leaves, though no green filament is required for either half of the model.

Both parts have very thin base layers, so special care is needed to remove them from the print bed. It is probably best to cool them completely before trying and/or to use a glue stick as a release agent.

When joining the two parts back to back be sparing with the adhesive, especially in the lighter parts. The adhesive will change the colors if it is not behind the black or red parts. I just used some around the darkest parts and around the very edge to keep the glue from showing. If spread thin and uniformly, it should not show too much.

This model is in PETG filaments to guard against heat damage when displayed in strong sunlight. It can be sdone in PLA, if it is not to be exposed to strong sunlight. Being done in PETG, instead of PLA, limits the available colors a bit. I used random brands of filaments available off of Amazon, so feel free to sub other brands of like characteristics.

Note that very few swaps are required for either piece, so an FDM printer capable of pausing for a filament swap could be used to make this model.
