Description

Custom ashtray designed to replace the OEM for 2003 330XI E46 BMW but should fit most other E46 body.

12V Socket (May require additional modification to the bracket behind the ashtray) 12-100v 100a Ammeter (28mm x 45mm) 12mm button switch (short buttons only, long button throws interfere with the OEM cover)

Print with the simpler short side face down, tree support on default settings works fine (Support generate ONLY BUILD PLATE); brim adhesion helps.

Edit 07-22-2022: Added template designs that aren't so niche, both hollow and solid. Width has been adjusted to better fit in aftermarket brackets, and 6 month hot summer heat update. Minor warping in constant direct sunlight with PLA. PETG should work better for hot climates.

01-22-2024 Still Looks the same, survived 2 summers and a radio headunit upgrade.

This is perfect, was about to 3d scan one. Want to convert that area into a mobile phone holder. but this a great start. What material do you recommend? PeTG or PLA?

I recommend PETG if you live in an area with a lot of sun or very hot. My model is still holding strong out of PLA in the Florida sun, but there is some aesthetic warping around top of the rectangle cutout.
