Recommended LED tealight:
You can use the same led tealight what has been made for our Cute Creepy Candle Holder design at the Maker's Supply:
LED Flame Tea Light Candle Set Warm Yellow (12pcs)
Or if you can use any other LED tealight you have at home, a standard 36-38mm tealight will fit both on the top or the inside of the Candle Holder.
(Please DO NOT use real candles or flames with the print, since PLA and other plastic filaments are not suitable to be around open flame, it can melt or even catch on fire.)
Recommended filaments:
You can use Bambu Dual Silk Filament it makes it look very pretty too!
Print difficulty level: Beginner
Print settings:
If you have a Bambu printer, you can load the 3mf print profile with the recommended slicing settings. (If you're used to other settings with your machine, feel free to adjust the settings), we recommend to keep the orientation of each object the way it's being imported, the position minimizes the amounts of supports needed and keeps the layer lines not too visible.
Layer Height: 0.16mm Infill: 10% Infill pattern: Gyroid Wall loops: 2 (if you want it stronger set it to 3) Supports: For the non hollow version, no supports; For the HOLLOW eyed version: Automatic Tree(organic) Supports, Threshold angle 30, TopZ Distance: 0.26, BottomZ Distance: 0.2 (like this the supports can be removed easily)
Estimated print time: 2.5h
Print & Painting Instructions:
-
Prep: Use white filament and sand the model lightly to smooth any layer lines (recommended to use wood filler/or plastic putty, and primer spray with a little bit of sanding to minimize layer lines visibility)
-
Base Coat: Apply a base coat of light beige or cream paint using an airbrush or spray can for smooth coverage.
-
Shading & Depth: Apply a dark wash (e.g., diluted brown/gray paint) to accentuate creases. Wipe excess from the raised areas to leave shadows.
-
Dry Brushing: Use a dry brush with off-white or ivory paint, lightly brushing over raised areas to highlight details.
-
Finishing Touches: Apply a matte or satin sealant to protect the paintwork and give it an organic look.
We are looking forward to see your makes, feel free to share them in the comments!:)
