Gridfinity Parametric Wall Control Baseplates
Non-floppy Gridfinity baseplates for Wall Control metal pegboards | It's 2022, floppies are masochistic!
I didn't like other pegboard baseplates because they're too floppy. Instead here's some baseplates that utilize pins to attach to Wall Control metal pegboards. They might work with non-metal pegboard? I don't know, I'm living in the future.
Bonus: the worst thing about 3D printed pegboard stuffs is the tabs breaking off. If the pin breaks, just replace the pin, not the entire baseplate!
Fusion 360 parametric source files are provided for the modified baseplate and the double pin. Any tolerances you might have to adjust will probably be in the double pin.
My printer config:
- Prusa i3 MK3s
- Overture PLA
- .3mm layer height
- No supports
- Double pin is best printed on its side

ok, dumb question but what pins? where can I get them?
It's in the zip: "Double Pin.3mf"
Can you upload the .stl or .obj files? I want to add a 3rd set of double pins in the middle of the baseplate that attaches to the wall control. For slightly heavier items I think it would help to have the extra support.
Hi guys, what infill setting do you use? For the pins I was thinking of going for 80-100% but not sure for the buddy. I don't want to use tons of filament. I try to avoid waste. I'd appreciate to hear your experiences. Thank you!
Is there a picture of one of these installed? My double pin part doesn't protrude far enough out the back of the shelf to go beyond the pegboard hole.
Do you insert some kind of core through the pinhole to spread the pin like a drywall anchor?
I'd love to have a slot version of these for Wall Control but don't have the skills yet. Anyone see any Gridfinity baseplates with the slots for WallControl as well?
Love this, simple yet effective design. The tolerances provided in the 3MF files worked perfectly for me. The pins needed a bit of convincing to make it through the pegboard holes at the benefit for a tight grip after being installed. I've tried several pegboard mounting solutions and this is by far the best fitting.
Great idea, but one baseplate.3mf file seems to import as 3 separate bodies for me. Seems like it should be a single body?
They are aligned though, so you can create an assembly in your slicer if you want to change their position on the plate. E.g. How to merge and group models in Ultimaker Cura
