A working spring that generates about 90N (can hold 9kg) at solid length (without cracks or damages). Fatigue test has been performed up to about 4000 cycles without any damage (decay within admissible range of 5%). However according to calculation, it should have infinite life (engineering speaking).
⚠ ATTENTION ⚠ This spring is designed taking into account mechanical properties of PLA+. Any different material or setup will impact the declared performances.
☝ Do not scale the model. Any dimension change would impact performances and resistance. ✌ Print with 100% infill (layer height no more than 0.2mm). Printing direction is vertical with supports between coils. They will be easy to remove. 🤙 Make sure your printer is well tuned and you get proper layer adhesion.
📚I won't be explaining the whole design process that guarantees functionality and performances, but if you are interested you can contact me.
Also, if you need a specific spring of specific load, do not scale the following one cause it won't work. Spring has to be designed accordingly.
Data of the current spring: Free length = 100mm Outer diameter = 50mm Inner diameter = 30mm Solid length = 69mm ca. Max force @solid length = 90N ca.
