Meet the Glow-Timer, a 3D-printed, open-source project that brings together the simplicity of a timer with the fun of LED lights and interactive user experience. This device is not just a timer – it's a unique blend of utility, technology, and affordability.

At the core of the Glow-Timer lies a rotary encoder, powered by an Arduino Nano. This setup allows the user to set a timer by simply turning the transparent top part of the device. A 12-led RGB ring shows you the progression of time and keeps you focused.

Once the timer reaches its end, it alerts the user with visual and audio feedback.

The Glow-Timer is designed with a cylindrical 3D-printed casing. Its form factor is both compact and aesthetically pleasing, making it a great addition to any desk, kitchen, or workshop.

Everything should print well without supports and a 0.2 layer height, so the tolerances work well. By reducing the print speed and setting the layer height to 0.1 mm you can achieve more translucent print, but it is your choice if you want to have a more transparent print.

I could source all the parts for about $10, assembly was fairly easy, and the print time should not be more than 5–6 hours without supports. This is V1 thechnically V9 of V1 but the first good working prototype, so feedback is very welcome. I hope you like it! :)

Note: almost every part is included in an arduino nano kit, so consider buying that one for around 20$ (It will help you in future projects)


Glow Timer: The 10$ productivity tool

I always wanted to make a board game and I made my first in 6th grade (It was bad, really bad) out of wood. Since then (a few years later, I am currently attending 8th grade), I got my 3d printer and Fusion 360 “skills” and I made a new one. It is 100% 3d printable and only takes around 9 hours to print. The game is a lot of fun and I put a lot of effort into it since I made it from scratch. You basically only need filament in different colours and a 3d printer, the couloirs you need will depend on which biomes you want to play, I used green and orange for the desert and forest biome.

-Two of these colours: orange, yellow, brown, green, blue, purple

-Two more colours of your choice for the player figures
I would recommend you to print the models with 0.28 layer height to achieve the 9-hour print time, you could also use 0.2 layer height for better tolerances. I designed the tolerances on this model, so it could print on printers with bad accuracy or even elephant's foot. You need to print:

1x - Game_Board in white

9x - Treasure, bandit in black

9x - Trasure, bandit in yellow, gold

9x - player, Top peaca, cover in blue or green

9x - player, top peaca, cover in brown or orange

1x- player, Top peaca, cover in any color you like

1x- player, Top peaca, cover in any color you like

This pendullum consists of 7 parts, all of which can be printed in ca. 7 hours. I would recommend printing the axes and guide in a separate print. You only need two ball bearings for the print, but I recommend adding a ball bearing in the lower part for weight. I just used the ball bearings as weight, but of course you can also tie other weights to a string and use that as weight. The assembly is actually quite simple you just put the ball bearings in all the places shown in the pictures and put the axle with the hole first through the backplate and then through the wheel, this process is then repeated for the lower part. Now you just make the weight with the string ready and you have a finished pendulum, which you can hang anywhere (the higher the longer the pendulum will oscillate).

PS: If the axes are too loose, you can make them tighter with tape.

Hey, I designed and built this Laptop stand from scratch, my main goals for this stand were: It should fit every kind of laptop (even my huge RTX A3000 Laptop and MacBook Pro), It should fit on a fairly normal sized build Plate, It should be 100% 3d printed and sturdy. I printed it with a 0.28mm Layer height and a fast profile and it took around 8 hours to print while only consuming ca. 50g of filament around (85ct) due to the honeycomb design.
