I printed the wrong threaded can, so I printed the top mirrored so I didn't have to print the can again. πŸ˜… Worked perfectly.

Just FYI, using Classic slicing mode without the "detect thin walls" setting on (which is by default off in OrcaSlicer at least), the built-in supports in the can top don't get sliced at all. My printer did a very admirable job bridging that gap though! πŸ˜‚ - 3d model

This is a major upgrade to my previously released Secret Can Safe, also known as StashCan. This new version is still fully printable but now includes a programmable combination lock integrated into the base of the can, along with an upgrade to the sequential puzzle-locked lid.

It is a fun, hide-in-plain-sight storage solution with added functionality thanks to the combination lock. While it is not entirely secure due to its portability and plastic material, it provides an enjoyable and challenging experience.

This is an advanced model with many details, so please refer to the documentation on my blog at logicalplanet.com and watch the accompanying video before attempting this print.

Key Features Fully 3D printable β€” no additional hardware, fasteners, or adhesives required. Prints without external supports. Includes a sequential puzzle mechanism and a programmable 3-digit combination lock.

Overview The StashCan2 consists of three main assemblies:

Lid Assembly: Features a locking mechanism requiring a specific sequence to unlock. Main Body Assembly: Connects the Lid Assembly at the top and the Lock Assembly at the bottom.

Lock Assembly: Secured to the Main Body Assembly and prevents unauthorized access unless unlocked using the combination code. The lid’s puzzle mechanism adds an extra layer of complexity to opening the can, complementing the combination lock for a more engaging experience.

Printing Information Material: PETG is recommended for durability and flexibility. Settings:

Nozzle: 0.4mm Layer height: 0.2mm Line width: 0.4mm Wall count: 4 (1.6mm) Infill: 40% Ironing: On Supports: Integrated into the design where necessary. Orientation: Refer to the provided screenshots.

Assembly Notes Assembling the StashCan2 is intricate. Please follow the assembly instructions provided in my video for step-by-step guidance.

Important Tips:

  1. Lubricate moving parts with a thin layer of synthetic lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  2. Test the combination lock thoroughly after assembly to confirm functionality.
