The fully 3D-printed, modular, collapsible filament-spool storage system

Meet the Logical Wall Mounted Spool Storage System — a 100% 3D-printed, snap-together, scalable storage solution for 1kg filament spools. Designed for makers, print farms, and anyone who wants clean, efficient, wall-mounted filament organization without bulky hardware.

This system is infinitely expandable horizontally and vertically. Trays collapse upward into the body when not in use, keeping your workspace clean and optimized. Key Features
  • Modular & Scalable — expand left, right, up, or down
  • Collapsible trays fold up into the wall assembly
  • 100% 3D printed snap-together parts
  • Rails link together to create any width
  • Spacer system ensures perfect vertical alignment
  • Holds bagged and unbagged 1kg spools
  • Perfect for print farms and compact workspaces

How It Works
  1. Assemble Wall Sections
Snap Wall A and Wall B together until the seam fully closes.

  2. Assemble the Tray
Align the tray wall with the tray, snap together, and rotate it into its keyed position.

  3. Attach to Rails
Slide the assemblies onto the rail system. Add additional rails or spacers as needed.

  4. Collapse When Needed
Each tray pivots upward into the wall assembly for storage.

Included Components
  • Wall Assemblies (A/B)
  • Tray Assemblies (C/D)
  • 1x / 2x / 3x / 4x Rail Lengths
  • Rail Anchors
  • Rail Spacers
  • Illustrated assembly & installation guide

Revisions and Updates I occasionally update and revise my designs. When I do, I’ll document the changes here. Check back periodically for the latest revision notes or if you’re experiencing any issues with a model.

20251208: I have added snap-on labels/tags for the ends of the spool tray so you can easily spot various filament types. AMS and non-AMS versions included. Please see the ZIP files included with the download. I think I have covered most of the material types, but if you want or need a different one just let me know (email is best logicalplanet3d gmail.com)

Planning on printing this week. Will update with some photos. Great design and work. In the video you mentioned a label system or something to identify each spool. Is that available ? Thanks

This is magnificent! I have a skinny but tall area on my wall (about the only wall space left LOL) in my hobby room that I've wanted to use for filament storage and this will look great in that spot. Now I know what I'll be printing after the holidays. :)
