Logical Utility Knife version 2.0
A compact and practical upgrade to my original Skeleton Utility Knife — this new folding version keeps everything you loved, and fixes everything you didn’t.
It’s safer, more convenient, and folds closed so you’ll never lose the cover again.
The Logical Utility Knife is a 100% 3D-printed, snap-together folding box cutter that fits standard Stanley-style blades.
The handle folds into the body for safe storage and includes an integrated tool for blade insertion and removal.
You can even add an optional 10×3 mm magnet insert so it sticks to your workbench, toolbox, or fridge.
Key Features
- 100% printed — no hardware or fasteners
- Folding design for safety and compact storage
- Compliant blade holder with snap-fit mechanism
- Blade insertion and removal tool built into handle
- Fits standard Stanley utility blades
- Optional 10×3 mm magnet insert
- Compact: 100 mm when folded, 160 mm when open
About the Design
The blade holder flexes slightly to clamp standard utility blades securely without hardware.
The built-in handle slot doubles as the blade-change tool, making it completely self-contained.
The design folds neatly into itself, keeping both your blade and fingers protected when not in use.

Revisions and Updates I occasionally update and revise my designs. When I do, I’ll document the changes here. Check back periodically for the latest revision notes or if you’re experiencing any issues with a model.

I'm going to print this when I figure out how to use my 3d printer 😅😅
Haha. If you need help let me know. We all can relate to the getting started phase.
Awesome work, love seeing your thoughtful designs!
Genial. Hab gleich ein Schwung für mich gedruckt. Bin talentiert die Messer ständig zu verlegen. Jetzt muss ich nur die Ersatzklingen finden. 😂
Haha. Me too.
