Locking Egg with Programmable 4-Character Combination
A fun and functional twist on the classic Easter egg, with 456,976 possible combinations to unlock!
This 3D-printable Easter egg features a unique 4-character programmable combination lock, adding an extra layer of excitement to your Easter egg hunts, puzzles, or hidden surprises. Each dial on the lock contains the entire alphabet (a-z), giving you nearly half a million possible combinations to play with.
The egg can be printed with or without an AMS, and two versions are available, allowing for more color layers (without an AMS). It is 100% printed, no hardware, fasteners or adhesives required.
You can set and change the combination code anytime by rotating the key disks inside the lock dials.
Could be super fun for adding a little extra complication to Easter hunts. For an added Easter hunt twist, keep the combination sequence secret and let your hunt participants find the combination, but work through trial and error to find the right sequence.
It’s perfect for Easter fun, but software developers will also appreciate the nod to digital "easter eggs" hidden in software!
Key Features: 4-character combination lock with a full alphabet on each dial 456,976 possible combinations 100% 3D printed; no hardware, fasteners or adhesives are required
IMPORTANT:
Two variations of the egg are included. You can print it with fewer body parts or more body parts. You might choose more body parts if you want to use more color combinations and fewer parts if you want to print it with fewer colors.
Printing Info and Settings
This design can be printed without an AMS (Automatic Material System). If you have an AMS, you can print the characters on the lock dials in a different color for added effect. Without an AMS, the characters will be embossed directly onto the dials.
For the best results, I suggest the following: Material = PLA Nozzle = 0.4mm Layer Height = 0.2mm Line Width = 0.4mm Wall Count = 4 (1.6mm) Top and Bottom Layer Count = 5 Detect Thin Walls = ON Wall Generator = Arachne Infill = 40% (Cubic) Brim = Should not be needed - use a raft instead (see next) Raft = Use a raft (3 layers suggested) for 104 (alt 102) and 304 (alt 301) if needed Support = None required Print orientation = As per the STL/3MF files.
