Backstory One of my cats has gotten into the habit of jumping up onto the edge of the door and then jumping onto people as they walk by.
I designed this one in Alibre Design. I wanted this to be easily printable, so that is why it is in a few parts and has the design of the spikes as they are, to allow for simple printing.
Print Recommendations I printed it in PETG just in case a cat actually jumps, it would have more give and not break. I used a gyroid infill with a 25% infill. Print with the spikes flat on the bed, the top of the catch on the bed, hook printed sideways. No supports are needed, the brim might be depending on bed adhesion issues.
Hardware/Assembly Information There is a left and right version of the spikes so you can have a half circle of spikes when putting them together. The same catch and hook work for both versions. The hook slides into the spike cutout and then the catch just fits into that to prevent it from sliding out.
Usage Recommendations The hook is sized for about a 37 mm width door. I have had it in place for a few weeks and the cat has stopped jumping on the door.
