This was a super fun print to work through! I started with a lotus petal inspired base and added in a pattern for the leaves.

This uses either a heat gun, hair dryer, or the heat from the build plate to shape this print after it's completed. I like using a baseball or lacrosse ball, but you can experiment with creating other shapes! I like using the new olight sphere as a light source inside, as I can change it wirelessly via phone and has a ton of different color options.

The pause command is added at layer 2, and takes between 45 - 75 minutes depending on single color / multi color. I use .24mm layer height for a total of 3 layers - .72mm total height. You can scale this up or down to your liking, but just make sure the z value stays the same at .72mm.

The pause command takes place in the beginning of layer 2, where you can place your fabric and tension it with magnets. Resume the print and let it finish. Remove the print from the build plate and trim away the excess fabric, just up to the tip of the star. Place it on a preheated build plate (I set mine to 80c) and wait until it becomes malleable. Shape it around a spherical object (I found a baseball or lacrosse ball works well). You can continue to shape it with a low temp hair dryer or heat gun for short bursts as to not burn the fabric.

I like using illusion mesh found at www.dfwfabricmart.com and also in my fabric sample packs at www.kaizen3dprints.com (the magnetic pflat sheets can be found there as well for a variety of build plate sizes)
