This Quick Attachment system is designed to solve a very specific problem, but its overall design should have a more flexible use case.
Problem: needed to reorient a surge protector, however the traditional provided screw/keyhole solution wasn't robust enough or oriented in the correct direction. Wanted something that could go in the holes of a standard American Pegboard system directly into the furring strip. Wanted the additional functionality of making it easily removeable for cleaning or if during reorganization it needs to be moved to a new location.
The attachment socket was printed with only 15% infill. the "Button" or insert was printed on edge (increased strength using the orientation) at 50% infill.
The Insert is designed around the key hole attachment system on the back of a Belkin surge protector. Arguably the insert could be cut an reformatted to host virtually anything. Would love to see a remix.
