This replaces that little blue clip that goes on the extruder bowden coupling. The one that came with my ender 3 was not big enough to stop the tube from moving back and forth. This one is a snug fit and stops the tube from moving. I am not sure if this actually helps the print quality but it does stop the tube from moving.

This fan cover has some depth and a spiral pattern both will help reduce noise often associated with fan grills. There are two version, this one for the fan that came with my ender 3 and one for the fan I got from amazon. There is also a freeCAD file on the OG post that has a spreadsheet where you can edit the peg diameter and length to customize it for any 4040 fan that has two free holes.

**You take out two screw, top right  and bottom left, then press it on.

It is a tight fit though. One of the crayon wrapper ripped but it does hold the crayons well. 
To get them in, twist them and slowly push.
