Here's an elegant new ornament design loosely on the British crown. It's extremely light if you print with my settings. I've provided my PrusaSlicer 3MF file and GCODE for a Prusa MK3S+.
Not for commercial use. Please see license agreement.
The ornament looks particularly good in 2 or 3 color filament. I show it here in MatterHackers Quantum Raspberry Gold.
For settings, most of the ornament is printed with 1 perimeter. Roughly the bottom 8mm and top 50mm are printed with 2 perimeters.
I added infill just where there are areas of a layer that are unsupported. This includes 7 areas in the star at the bottom and a lot of the stem. You could cheat and just use 25-30% rectilinear infill in the bottom 44mm and top 41mm, but doing so increases the final weight of the ornament by 30% or more. And you can just use my files, right?
You'll need supports to keep the model stable. I used the paint-on supports feature in PrusaSlicer with organic supports. And, again, I've given away my 3MF file so you don't have to figure out where to put the supports.
