The standard bracket that came with my Ring 4 wasn't going to work with my doorway. The only good place to mount the camera was on a surface that was 90 degrees to the door. So, I designed my own bracket. It has a 45 degree angle (Z axis), which was optimal for my set-up. The holes that attach it to the wall are shaped for deck screws, since I was screwing into wood.
Not for commercial use. Please see license agreement.
I've included versions for mounting the camera on either the left or the right of the door.
If you use my settings, the bracket is very sturdy. It takes about 5 hours to print.
Unfortunately, I can't share my CAD files because there are none. I created this in Blender, not a CAD app, because Blender is the program I know best.
PRINT SETTINGS
Thickness
- Layer thickness: .2 mm
- Wall thickness: 1.2 mm
- Top/Bottom Thickness: 4 Layers
- Infill: 25% Triangles
Speed Don't try to print this too fast. The fine screw holes may not print well and therefore may not be substantial enough to screw into.
- Outer Wall: 35 mm/s
- Inner Wall: 35 mm/s
- Top/Bottom Speed: 35 mm/s
- Travel Speed: 50 mm/s
- Infill Speed: 60 mm/s
Build Plate Adhesion I recommend using a brim. You really want the base to print flat. Also, let the print cool completely before removing it from the plate. Otherwise, you may warp it just removing it.
