Convert your Uplift Desk cubby into a more useful drawer

I bought an Uplift Desk, but I found the cubby above my computer tower bracket to be pretty much useless. The opening wasn't tall enough to be able to reach anything that isn't right at the front. I wanted to make it more useful, so I figured a drawer was the right thing for the job.

What you need:

  • Two M3x8 screws
  • Glue (optional)

Printing: You'll want to print the handle and drawer face in higher quality, since they're most visible. Otherwise, feel free to print at whatever layer height you like.

  • Supports: Only the handle. Everything else can be printed on its largest flat edge
  • Walls: 3 is fine, but whatever floats your boat

Assembly:

  • Print one of every model, except the standoffs
  • Print four standoffs
  • Glue the standoffs to the underside of the rails. Use the pegs for alignment. The long side of each standoff should be pointing outward to help support the drawer above
  • Align the handle, the drawer face, and the drawer body. Secure with two M3x8 screws
  • Align the rails and standoffs on your screws. The rails mark the front and rear, left and right in the center to help with orientation
  • Slide the drawer in and enjoy
