So I installed a dashcam in my wifes Outback and later on she had the windshield replaced. after that the a pillar would constantly pop out. So I did a little measuring and designed this insert for the A pillar top barb receptacle. What appears to be the issue is that the barb insert on the A pillar has been slightly crushed and so it does not provide enough friction.
inserting this into the A pillar trim hole adds more resistance to keep it in. so far my wife, that couldn't go one trip to work without it popping loose has gone 4 days. so fingers crossed.
This is the 11th time i have iterated it. if you need to change something there is a tinkercad link below. The two objects are the part and a barb simulator.
This needs to be printed out of TPU. I tried with a 0.6 nozzle in my revo and it did not turn out well. So i moved down to a 0.4, 0.25 might be even better. 0.2 layers should result in two layers for the bottom. which will then not collapse when putting it into the hole and should provide decent resistance against the barb pulling out.
i forgot to take pictures so anyone who prints this send me one of it installed in the trim panel
