The Jagdpanzer 38(t), universally known as the "Hetzer" (German for "baiter" or "chaser"), was a highly effective light tank destroyer based on the proven Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t) chassis. Introduced in July 1944, it became one of Germany's most important late-war armored vehicles due to its low cost, mechanical reliability, and ease of concealment.
