A simple phone holder created using 3D printing and laser cutting that fits in the top of a microphone stand and allows hands free video calls.
The base (that fits in to the microphone holder) needs to be 3D printed. The STL file should be good for most stands, but if you need to tweak the dimensions the OpenSCAD file is included and the variables to tweak are at the top. (OpenSCAD file currently only availabel from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:713281 but I hope will be available on Thangs soon)
The mount is best cut from 3mm acrylic on a laser cutter. The fingers that hold the phone can be bent in to position using a hot jet of air (I used a soldering reflow device at 300C) or a hot wire machine designed for such a task. Remember to leave enough room for the phone, it's case, and the back of the screws to fit. Also be careful not to cover the camera on the front of the phone.
The two parts are attached using 4MM screws and a nut can be added to the inside for extra strength if desired. The charge cable and perhaps headphone cable can be put in the middle hole before insertion in to the microphone stand.
