This kit helps you turn an Epson Moverio BT-40 into the Optigon 2 Head-Mounted Display, a discreet, unobstructive monocular wearable HUD.
- Print one copy of each part in a relatively stiff filament.
- Cut the Moverio's ribbon cable at the base of the left lens. Peel the cable and protective decal off the lens.
- Slice your Moverio's right display off and polish the edge. I strongly recommend covering the lens with masking tape to protect it from scratches.
- Attach the Frame to the top of the left lens using carpet tape or E-6000.
- Using screws from the removed right half, attach the Arm and use the Bridge Clamp to secure the Moverio's nose bridge.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install the Optigon Modchip: https://a360.co/3eBTL5L
⚠ CRITICAL WARNING!! ⚠ Once a display is disconnected, the BT-40 will shut itself off every few seconds. You must fabricate and install an Optigon Modchip between the lapel board and headset cable. This is a very difficult board to solder and not recommended for beginners.
