Word Chess! The perfect chess set for beginners learning to play, old players that need a refresher or anyone who just can't remember what the pieces are called.
As I'm teaching my kids to play chess, I found myself constantly repeating the piece names and how they can move. I started talking to other parents about chess and even a lot of them told me “I can't remember the names of the pieces”. So here we are, Word Chess! If you can read, you can play chess!
This is a very easy print. All the pieces print flat on the bed and then the little attachment piece on bottom snaps right into the universal base. The base is made to be exactly the same for every piece, so they can be swapped or easily reprinted if lost. Make the game harder on yourself and use white text on black bases to confuse our tiny human brains even more.
I printed everything at 0.2mm layer height and it came out nicely. I'd recommend taking the nozzle temp up an additional 5 degrees higher than usual, stringing can be a bit much in some of the letters. A few of the pieces also have a nice bendy feature to them. Not really intended, but fun to mess with.

**The board itself is not my design. These pieces are designed to be used with most standard chess boards. I could probably make a smaller set, even scaling might work, but for now this is for the roughly average 1.5x1.5" (38.1mm) - 2x2" (50.8mm) board squares.
