The warm weather here in Belgium made me recall our holiday at the sea last year and inspired me to create this refreshing new shadow box design. The scenery depicts a boat traveling the vast ocean, leaving little waves behind, on the path to it's destination.
I've used the following colors:
- Plate 1 & 2: Sunlu PLA Plus White
- Plate 3: 3DJake ecoPLA Pastel Blue
- Plate 4: Geeetech PLA Water Blue
- Plate 5: Tinmorry PLA Sky Blue
- Plate 6: Prusament PLA Blend Royal Blue
- Plate 7: PolyMaker PolyLite PLA Galaxy Dark Blue
The colors are just guidelines, you can get creative with the color scheme for a personal touch.
It consists of
- 7 numbered plates
- 2 different boats (speed boat & benchy)
- Nut and pin with threads to attach the boat
Installation
- Slide all plates into the display box
- Put the pin with the threaded side into the hole of plate number 7
- Secure the pin into the plate by screwing the nut onto the threaded part of the pin
- Install the boat onto the pin using the hole in the bottom of the boat. It might be necessary to use glue if the connection between the boat and the pin is a bit loose.
The boxes to display this set are also available on Thangs

- Shadow box with lid (paid): link
