Habash Monster from 14th century Manuscript

This creature is depicted in one picture from a copy of the Romance of Alexander made in 1338 which is a highly fictionalized account of Alexander the Great's life. I couldn't figure out exactly what it is because this portion of the manuscript is written in Old French and I only have limited fluency in modern French.
