I needed a simple frame for a couple small pieces of local art I wanted to properly display. While there are already several models for picture frames, I could not find one that I liked so I made my own. These are very simple & fast printing models that require no supports or assembly or any extra effort really which was my main goal - print, remove, insert picture, done.

There are two versions of each size that I made - the "_supported" version of each file has built in supports along the length of the top opening where you insert your photo/art. This helps reduce bridging distance down to something almost any printer can handle. You can easily remove the supports with a flathead screwdriver or a simple razor blade, just be sure you don't leave any sharp bits that could damage your photo/art when you insert it!

The other version of each file is the same minus the built in supports, for the more adventurous folks that can handle a 100+ mm bridge distance.

You should be able to scale these a bit and still work just fine, if you have art that's some other odd dimension that doesn't quite match these. I can also whip up another version by simply plugging in new photo dimensions so feel free to request another size in comments!

• 135x135 frame: 154 x 154 x 58 mm (~6 x 6 x 2 in)
• 131x178 frame: 149 x 195 x 58 mm (~5.9 x 8 x 2 in)
• 178x131 frame: 195 x 149 x 58 mm (~8 x 5.9 x 2 in)

Printed Weight: (PLA+)

• 135x135 frame: ~31g
• 131x178 frame: ~34g
• 178x131 frame: ~34g

PRINTING:

• Print frame face down, no supports or anything extra needed
• Print with at least 5 bottom & top shell layers, 3-4 walls, 5-20% infill
• Print "_supported" file versions for built in supports along the top slot - cut them out with a flathead or razor blade after printing
• Brave bridgers can use the unsupported file versions - they print quite well on a dialed in machine.
