**Summary**
This is just a little fridge magnet thingy. I was annoyed that my fridge kept getting scratched up by bare magnets, so I jumped into FreeCAD [is that my catchphrase now?] and designed a Thing.

It is designed to hold 8x2mm neodymium magnets but can be customized to fit your particular needs.

Obviously, some assembly required.

The FreeCAD files are included for y'all to customize!

_Notes:_
As with most of my prints, there's nothing magic here. Just make sure to use a lower layer height because anything over .15 will cause the alignment peg on the cap to not print.

All-told, these come to about .45g of filament per unit.

**Post-Printing**
To assemble, the easiest way is to put a magnet into the cup, then tick a magnet to the bottom as a stabilizer.


Spread a small amount of CA glue on the rim of the cup then set the cap on.

Carefully stick a magnet on top of the lid to clamp it down.

To keep all the magnets aligned to the same polarity, use the one you just assembled as the stabilizer magnet to the next assembly.

Repeat ad nauseum.

If the magnet still rattles around inside the little enclosure, you did it right! If it doesn't rattle, you still did it right.

Small Fridge Magnet [8x2mm neodymium]

While making some paper holiday decorations with the wife yesterday, we cut out a holiday tree with a base [on Design Space, it's #M4DD1C48D]. The paper base was meant to be cut in three layers and glued together. The problem is that 0.5mm card stock stacked three times comes to a total thickness of ~1.5mm [accounting for expansion from glue saturation].

I watched her fiddle with this paper base until she got the tree fitted... and it _didn't_ really fit! She had to glue it to yet another piece of card stock and glue the tree itself down. This didn't stabilize anything, and the tree still flopped about. So, I did what any engineer would do... by grabbing my calipers, some grid paper, and a pen, I measured the "base" and popped over into FreeCAD.

After about ten minutes of design [and 25 minutes of printing on my AnkerMake M5C] the little paper trees had a _sturdy_ base!

The slots are 30.5x1x3mm [XYZ] and can support cardstock up to double the thickness of 100lb. The sharp corners were intentionally designed to improve bed adhesion [sometimes with glass, rounded edges tend to lift].

I'd love to see what remixes come out of this!

I have always been fascinated with light and translucency. Also, given the fact that I get curious and bored rather easily, I decided to teach myself how to make a lithograph.

It hasn't been printed and tested in the real world, but it operates quite well in Blender (using subsurf scattering and volumetric material).

Here's my second foray into the weeds of FreeCAD, and holy shit, was this a challenging one!

This is made specifically for 1-inch Schedule 40 PVC [OD=33.401mm], but I've included the FreeCAD files for you to remix to your own specific needs! You can use the following site for reference on diameter: https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/resource-center/pvc-pipe-dimensions-18-through-24/

There's a second pair with a thinner hook. The two can be mixed and matched, too. They're all designed to fit together!

We recently purchased a projector screen, but didn't have a frame to hold said screen. So I did what any red-blooded crafter would do... build one out of PVC! The only problem is... just wrapping the rope around the pipes to hold the screen worked about as well as you'd imagine.

I jumped into FreeCAD, PVC measurements in-hand [literally - I wrote the exact dimensions down to the thousandth of a mm on my palm] and got to work. Three hours later... I realized I went the wrong way with my design and scrapped it. However, my second attempt went by a LOT faster because I'm starting to get the hang of it!

This is the first in a series of coins I'm creating for the Havok RP Guild's Pathfinder campaign set in my homebrew setting of the Exilsphere.

Every nation has a unique set of coins, which I will be posting here as I have time to create them.

Set #1 - The Aubergine Kingdom. Their monetary aesthetic is an equal combination of round shapes and hard lines with almost no organic flow. The only exception to this is the King's Platinum which is a hand-forged disk, about the size of a US fifty-cent piece. They tend to use as little material as possible in the minting of their coinage.

Set #2 - The Pralibaen Kingdom. Their money is all hand-forged by the enigmatic Halfling-sized race of fox-like people known as the Om Shiret. Intricate designs are etched into each coin.

Set #3 - /TBA/

This remix adds the herringbone twist to the ring gears.

Herringbone gears are much more stable and offer less play than standard spur-type gears as more surface area is allowed to make contact.

Gear remodeled in Blender 2.80.

This bottle includes a little slot on the front to put a small label!

This prints completely support-free and is a fully-functional bottle. None of the inward slopes exceed the 45 degree threshold.

After three attempts at printing Reach3D_Nate_Rogers' 0002 Puzzle Box and experiencing failures with every print [not from his design, mind you... just non-universal settings], I decided to build one from scratch in Blender using Nate's original design.

When fully assembled, the box measures at 50x50x50mm.
The lid tolerance is about .15mm, so it shouldn't slide around *too much*.

Honestly, this was a fun build that got me back into remixing and symmetrical design.

I will update with photos of the printed item as soon as I print and test the Thing! :)

Made this telescope and stand on a whim. It's meant to be comically oversized, which is why the base is so far forward.

A little dab of superglue will affix the telescope in place, but you shouldn't actually need it because I modeled it to be a press-fit.

Take it, make it, remix it, and post it up! I'd love to see what y'all can come up with!

Kinda second verse same as the first.

This is the second prototype of my marlinspike holder. This is designed to have a piece of elastic band thrown over the top and secured on the sides with a tight decorative knot [such as a Turk's Head or whipping]. This version doesn't need a lid.

Also, I've expanded and relocated the pathetic lanyard holes.

* EDIT - 10/03/20: It was too big on the X and Y axes. * RE-UPLOADED! It was seriously 2mm too large in those dimensions.

* EDIT - 10/02/20: Well, I borked the Z measurement by a little under half, so... I've updated the Thing and fixed it. Also added: fillets in every corner to help further reinforce the walls! I know it's not entirely necessary because 3mm is /fairly/ thick, but it also looks nicer!

I'm leaving the short file up, but it *was* updated a bit to add the fillets around all corners! Even the flat ones are useful, I tell ya!

Yes, I know there are a metric crap-load of these here, *but* this is my first-ever project done in FreeCAD without being aided by a tutorial! Actually, I'm a bit proud of myself for it!

I needed something with specific dimensions, and Blender... well... kinda *sucks* when it comes down to accurate measurements because it's a visual-design platform [I'll have a bit of a ramble on this below, actually].

Included with the Thing is the FreeCAD file so you can customize it yourself! :)

Altoids Tin Organizer Thing

When two projects collide... you get creative.

I purchased a hand-forged paracord spike from Jig Pro Shop and... well... realized that it was smaller than I thought it'd be [that's what *she* said].

So, instead of tossing it into my marlinspiker's toolbag to get either forever buried or, more likely, poked through and escaped, I got busy in Blender. Measure once, cut twice was it?

So, this container **was** designed to include an interlocking lid with a series of lanyard holes... but I dumbassed and made the locking tabs *way* too thin [snapped off immediately], and the lanyard holes too small. So, this is prototype 1. Prototype 2 will come soon as I experiment with making threaded parts.

The overall aesthetic of the piece, by the way, is supposed to resemble a traditional marlinspike complete with a thinned-out section to tie a Turk's Head knot [or really any wide, decorative knot].

If you think something about this design is useful to you, feel free to remix it! I'm always curious as to what the community at large will do with things. Take it and break it!

BTW: I found out that if you use borosilicate glass for your printer bed, you don't need heat! Just a liberal spraying of Aquanet.

I also found out that my TronXY XY-2 works better after it completely broke down! XD

Paracord Marlinspike Container [Proto-1]

Here's my third FreeCAD project complete! This design is meant as sort-of a rope hold or other such hangar that would keep a thing parallel to the PVC, such as running a rope or light-string!

The tolerance of the cut is .15mm, and it only requires one bolt! You may wanna put a dab of glue in the slot, though.

I'll update this project in a day or two when I get a chance to thin out the hook-end itself a little.

As always, the base file is included for y'all to remix! :)

It's a holder for business cards! Specifically, the USA Standard sized business cards [3.5in by 2in].

The front has a relatively flat surface with /very/ simple geometry, so you should be able to bool your logo right to it!

In effort to fix things around my apartment, our landlord has expressed either frustration or disinterest [I can't tell between the two, personally] in fixing the broken shelf-guard clips in our freezer.

While looking around, I noticed that Gabeff made a clever clone of the refrigerator shelf-guard clip but not the shorter version for the freezer.

NOTE: You'll want to print these in pairs. My clip stands a little more proud of the shelf than the parts you're replacing, so go ahead and replace them all.

I will post photos of a printed unit as soon as I get home and can print.

Printed a pair of these and attempted installation. Two things:

1. I have to readjust the size of the clips because the plastic on the freezer door is ~ .75mm thicker than that of the fridge door.
2. Lat it on its back with the main protrusion facing upward.

I've placed the WIP tag on this Thing to remind me within the next couple days to improve and reprint.

After a _long_ hiatus from doing any sort of 3D design, printing, or even digital art in general, I present to you my latest creation... _nothing special!_

Seriously, it's just a pair of drawers to hold business cards, membership cards, credit cards, meeples, or whatever else you'd like! This Thing is also designed to scale up without much issue.

I've also included an untested drawer for Micro SDs and an associated adapter. If you print it, post a make! I'd like to see if the bonus drawer actually worked out! I **would** have tested it, but I'm running low on filament at the moment and am still figuring out a new machine.

As an added bonus, I've included the .BLEND file so you can easily customize it! It's all quads, and the drawers and overall structure should be a breeze to edit!

Notes:
No brim. Only raft it if you're printing on glass. The edges are chamfered to 1.25mm at 45 degrees, so no elephant foot compensation is needed to get a clean result.

There are two bridging surfaces at the face of the slots. These are also chamfered but have a .4mm section that bridges across at the lip that //should// print just fine.
