1:144 Letord 2
This is a 1:144 scale model of a French Letord 2 reconnaissance biplane. A Letord 1 is also available. Since many painters choose their own mounting system, no peg is included on the plane. Pegs can be purchased separately in the Accessories section of this catalog.
The Letord 2 was a twin-engine reconnaissance biplane. Like its predecessor the Letord 1, this three-seater featured negatively-staggered wings and twin engines. The Letord 2 was powered by two 200hp Hispano-Suiza 8Ba engines. The two observers -- one in the nose and another behind the pilot -- were each armed with single or twin Lewis guns (twin on this model), and a 130–150 kg (290–330 lb) bomb load was sometimes carried. 89 Letords were in service in August 1917 and up to 121 in November, with 200-300 produced overall. They were mixed into units including other types such as the SPAD 11, Strutters, or Caudron R.4's.
