1:144 Anatra DS
This is a 1:144 scale model of a Russian Anatra DS Anasal. Since many painters choose their own mounting system, no peg is included on the plane. Pegs can be purchased separately in the Accessories section of this catalog.
The Anatra DS Anasal was a follow-on to the 1916 Anatra D, the major change being the installation of the 150hp Salmson Canton-Unné R9 radial engine, with associated cutouts for the cylinder heads and a box-type radiator near the center of the top wing. Roughly seventy were produced in 1917, but it was later used by both Austria and the Czechs.
After Russia had dropped from the war, sixty-six DS planes were purchased by Austria-Hungary as Anatra C.I Series 010 trainers. They saw a little use in late 1918 and then served with the Hungarian Red Airbourne Corps and the Czechoslovakian air service.
