Pretzel Prints Graveyard Zen Garden
You really can't imagine my excitement for this one. This is a Graveyard Zen Garden with lots of little parts to play with. I will have it published possibly tomorrow. I want to make 3-packs of headstones that say various things, so if you have a request for that, let me know.
Things you need to know:
For the bones: The only thing that needs a touch of support are the ribs. I used tree supports. Print the bones with 3 walls. Use .16 max for layer height. If you have a resin printer, these are also a great candidate for resin. You do not need to print them in resin, don't worry. I printed mine in the Sliceworx PLA bone gradient at .16mm layer height, 3 walls, 10% infill. They came out fantastic. You may benefit from a brim on the spine. Print the bones THREE TIMES. One set for each grave. *See bottom for add-on possibilities / character packs
For the flowers: The flowers work best if you heat the stem with a lighter and press the stem into the top. They look organic, they stay together perfectly, and it is nice and easy. There are 2 different stem types and 4 different flower tops. Print as many in the combinations you like. Again, .16mm layer height max, 3 walls. Use a brim to help with ease of printing.
For the sand: Full disclosure, the sand I ordered was poorly packaged and spilled in the bag, however for what I found online in this color, it was the best price. You can find any craft sand, zen garden sand, or colored sand that you want to use. This is what I used: https://amzn.to/4hh5WCW
For the headstones: I am including the plain headstones with this first rollout. You can add whatever words you want to the blank ones, so you have that option. That being said, I am going to post additional posts after this one with 3-packs of different headstones. Classic Halloween, funny, cute, etc.
For the leaves: The leaves print flat in 3 different sizes. What I did to get them some curl and variety: I used a heat gun to gently heat them and curl the sides with my fingers. You can also use tin foil or a spoon edge to drape the leaf over to speed up the process. This is optional obviously, but I think it gives the leaves an organic touch.
For the base: I would print the base with .20mm layer height and 10% infill. 2-3 walls. I used SliceWorx marble like filament for this and the headstones.
For the Jack-o-lanterns: You will need minimal support in the mouths of the pumpkins.
I hope you are excited for this, too! I want to start Halloween early this year so we will all have a lot of good options to push at markets and be ahead of schedule a bit!
ONE LAST THING: I am considering making additional add-ons for this in the form of skeleton packs. Example- a pirate themed skeleton add-on with gold coins, a pirate hat, a sword, and a skull with an eye patch.. maybe a hook on the hand. Different characters for the graves. Any ideas? Any thoughts?
Stay spooky,
Shanna
