This is part 2 of my printed wearable Halloween costume, and entry into the #Hallowearables contest. Technically I suppose this is a wearable scabbard with detachable full size sword. The scabbard can be worn on a belt, or sewn to the back of a jacket. The sword itself is quite long at 4' 5" and has room in the blade to run up to two neopixel strips, a battery cavity in the base of the blade, and room in the hilt for an Arduino Nano or similar microcontroller. The back of the hilt unscrews to allow access to the microcontroller for programming, as well as the battery charger without needing to take anything apart. However, you can still print and assemble the sword without any electronics and it will still look the same. Glue is not required for the sword to stay together, however if you make this and plan to carry it to a party or swing it I would recommend using some superglue on the face pieces to give them a better hold to the edge, as well as where the blade connects to the blade base. I don't recommend gluing anything on the hilt or guard in case you do want to take the electronics out later. I've included photos of assembly and will refer to them in the comments for the relevant component. I also included an stl of the full sword for fun. I hope you make it and enjoy, it really is quite solid and fun to swing. Please remember that it is still only PLA, and can still break.

Print the blade edges vertically, with a brim, recommend supports (I used Tree supports with low density), 3 walls, and concentric infill ~10-15%

Here is a link to my Github repo, which has the code for the sword: https://github.com/jjolley91/-Hallowearables-CyberWitcher/tree/main

Here is a complete list of materials which I used for mine, not required if you are only printing the sword without using the electronics.

Materials:

1- Arduino Nano: 3 for 15$: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713XK923?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

1 - 12v battery pack: 26.99: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MHNQIR2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

1- 5m strip 12v WS2811 (neopixels) 22.99: https://www.amazon.com/Aclorol-Addressable-300LEDs-Flexible-Non-Waterproof/dp/B07FVYR84H/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=12v+ws2811+non+waterproof&qid=1635631635&sr=8-3-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFJRFZYRTBFRDgyVlgmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NzEzODEyU1Y1M1pITFdMTU0xJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4NzYxMDcyVDNJNExUVkhTVVVJJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Some wire, if you don't already have some 10.90: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HK6CLY9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

Some connectors for the battery if you don't have some 8.99: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ER6QWAY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
