• Use any LED light source. The example shown is illuminated with battery-powered copper fairy lights, shaped into a vertical bundle and inserted through the opening in the base cavity.

You can use translucent PETG if you prefer not to paint the model. The translucent material allows light to pass through naturally, creating an attractive finish straight off the printer without any additional painting or post-processing.

Painting Tip: To soften the harsh white glow, lightly thin your paint with water and apply a translucent coat over the illuminated surfaces. Paint the raised details with black, raw umber, or your chosen accent color. Don't worry if some paint overlaps onto the glowing areas using a thin wash and carefully tracing around all edges helps blend transitions and creates a cleaner, more professional finish.

This technique also hides small missed spots and minor overpainting, giving the lamp a more polished hand-painted appearance. For added durability and a deep glossy finish, apply a final coat of UV resin once the paint is fully dry.
