A replacement rear cover for the Wiimote compartment on the Nintendo Wii Guitar Hero Gibson Les Paul controller.

This model is designed for the original flat-back Wii Les Paul guitar, commonly used with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. It replaces a missing or damaged rear Wiimote-bay cover and includes the retaining tabs needed to hold it in place.

This is the solid-cover version without a cable-routing opening.

Compatibility notice: Designed for the Nintendo Wii Les Paul controller with the flat rear body. It is not designed for the curved-back Guitar Hero World Tour or Guitar Hero 5 controllers, Xbox 360/PS3 Les Paul battery compartments, Kramer, X-Plorer, Warriors of Rock, or Guitar Hero Live controllers.

Because snap-fit tolerances vary slightly between printers and materials, minor sanding of the retaining tabs may occasionally be required.

Settings and manufacturing instructions

Print the model in the supplied orientation with the smooth exterior face flat against the build plate and the retaining clips facing upward.

Recommended settings:

  • 0.4 mm nozzle
  • 0.16 mm layer height
  • 5 walls/perimeters
  • 5 top layers
  • 5 bottom layers
  • 25% gyroid infill
  • Supports disabled
  • Brim disabled
  • Approximately 40 mm/s outer-wall speed
  • Moderate acceleration for cleaner clips and accurate fit

PLA+ is recommended for the easiest and cleanest print. PETG can also be used when slightly more flexible retaining clips are preferred, although it may require additional tuning for bridging and dimensional accuracy.

Clean the build plate before printing and allow the part to cool fully before removal to reduce the chance of bending the long panel. Test-fit the cover gently. When adjustment is needed, lightly sand the clip contact surfaces rather than scaling the entire model.
