Hextraction Snek

An infinitely modular folding combo tileset. What’s the longest chain you’re willing to make?

Rules Snek | Unique Virtual Combo Setup: Fully open, may overwrite. You can’t win this turn. Snek Proxy | On Play: Remove this then create a Snek, if able. Note: Proxies with this ruleset don't activate On Destroy effects.

Hardware / Printing

  • (Optional) Two 6x2mm magnets per tile
  • All bases are compatible with each other and require supports (Structure = Normal, Placement = Touching Buildplate, Overhang Angle = 45)
  • Print two Links per tile in combo (minus two links), supports not required.
  • Card and Proxy variations available, choose one set. Faithful or Drawing
  • Blank .STEP files available for remixing. Don't Print these
  • PLA, 2 walls, 10% infill
  • Recommended for max combo length to be based on your board's length slot count.

Assembly

  1. Remove supports from bottom of bases and deburr. Destring mount points if necessary
  2. Align tiles into desired configuration. Place links in the mount slots. The short part of the link mounts the edges and the long part mounts to center. See images above for reference.
  3. Jam a snippet of filament into the mounting hole then loose cut. Repeat for all of your link mounts.
  4. Test closing and opening then flush cut all filament snippets.
  5. (Optional) Install magnets into the top-center of the bases with the same polarity. Allow for dry time. Repeat in all bottom-center magnet holes with reverse polarity.

This tile is part of my Connections Pack. Check the others out.
