Of course you don't have to place signals on any position, signalling setups changed over time with changes in traffic and routes so some bridges have platforms that are no longer in use. Distance between the legs of the bridge is 124.5mm, height underneath the bridge is 90mm, this bridge will fit 2 tracks with a modern track profile as specified in NMRA RP7-1.
