One-Piece Frames

UPDATE: Try our new Snap Together Frames that print on edge for a smoother face!

This download includes a set of square frames designed to fit our 3D map models. See the included PDF for more info.

INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Pick your frame size. The name of each STL describes the interior and exterior dimension. This is to help choose a frame that fits your build plate and map model. 2. Scale the frame. The frames can also be scaled to a custom size in the slicer. For example, if you printed your model at 188mm size, scale the 175mm interior frame by 108% ((188+1)/175*100 = 108). Online Frame Scaling Calculator. The frame interior should be about 0.5 mm larger than your map model. Use the 'Measure' tool in the slicer to double check. 3. Print! 4. Assemble & Display. Use a small amount of glue or double sided tape to secure the model in the frame. Use the pre-cut notches in the back to hang it from a nail, or display on a shelf or tabletop!

The short frame profile is 15mm x 12.5mm. The tall frame profile is 30mm x 12.5mm.

Tip: The frames can be scaled to adjust the profile. E.g., If you want a wider frame, import a smaller frame size into the slicer and scale up the dimensions. The height can also be scaled.

Don't forget to post a 'Make' of your finished, framed pieces!

Mine would not print. It loads up as 100% completed and cannot be printed or cancelled.

No assembly required for this frame. Later I'll release versions that will require some assembly, but allow you to print a frame that's bigger than your build plate

Do you have an updated eta on this frames? I subscribed and downloaded some of your XL models of cities and would like to frame them. However, the frame is too large to print on my A1. Thank you.

Any tips on how to print a full plate sized frame without it peeling up on the corners? I used an outer brim and the SuperTack cold plate, and it did not come off the plate but it did pull it up off the heated base just a little.

I apply a bit of glue stick on the bed just in the corner areas where the frame corners will print
