Raindrop Cup Top
The Raindrop Cup Top suspends an infitesimal spectacle in a sculptural and maybe, kind of, sort of functional piece 💧
Printing Guidelines
Due to the shallow ripples, the smaller your layer height, the smoother the result (non-planar printing someday!) I used the following settings:
- 0.08mm layer height
- 3 perimeters
- 10 top layers
- 3 bottom layers
- rear seam position
- Arachne perimeter generator
- 35% support cubic infill
- concentric top fill pattern
- archimedean chords bottom fill pattern
By default, this design is scaled for my IKEA PAPPERSBJÖRK glasses (love em), but you can easily scale this for any round opening. Simply scale uniformly so the X/Y dimension matches the diameter of the cup you're printing for (I like to measure slightly below the lip to mimic a cup that isn't completely full to the brim)
I suppose it would also look nice scaled up and used on its own as a tray for jewelry, keys, or other trinkets!

I would love something like this for larger - My rice cooker and saucepan - for refrigeration. I worry that if I scale this the middle piece will be too huge.
