My goal in designing this phone holder was to create a compact, portable accessory I could put in a pocket. It’s foldable, easy to carry, and can hold any phone thinner than 15 mm. This is one of my most useful designs, which I actually use primarily for recording myself playing piano or holding my phone at my desk. It met my needs and hopefully yours too.

The model's dimensions are 77 x 80 x 12 mm. Assembling the parts requires a few centimeters of 1.75 mm filament and a couple of drops of glue.

Despite being printed in its working position, it isn’t a print-in-place design. Making it print-in-place would have required larger joints, defeating the project’s purpose.

The download includes:

  • STL for the full phone holder
  • STLs for printing the components separately

The model is intended to be printed without supports. Due to the small contact area between the parts and the build plate, you might need to activate brims. However, I didn't need to when printing on a PEI build plate. Low infill, like 15%, is fine, but depending on the layer height, you might notice some pillowing on the top surfaces. With a 0.20 mm layer height, I used 15% infill, but I needed to increase to 50% infill when printing with a 0.12 mm layer height. This also depends on how many top layers you have set.
